Re: RFC : SOME IDEAS FOR THE APPLE II FPGA'ers

As Simon puts it, I was simply making light of the fact that history
has shown that generally, we don't reach any consesus through these
discussions, and in the end, hardware get's developed by people who
for the most part don't even read this forum.
Well, I for one am seriously considering developing a A2 card with an
FPGA on it, if nothing else but to muck about with myself. I think
there's enough interest shown on this newsgroup, together with the
success of the CFFA and mockingbird clones, to perhaps come up with a
saleable product - even if it means only breaking even.
I don't have a great deal of experience with A2s at all (I'd much rather
develop a TRS-80 peripheral for example) but there's just no
interest/market there. But I like a few ideas I've seen on the newsgroup
and I don't think it'll be too much work.
My idea would be to produce as 'generic' a board as possible - to
perhaps allow the one board to perform a range of different functions
when configured differently.
Anyway, I'm not making any promises, just considering it atm.
