While I agree with you, my only options I could find for Apple style
DB15 cables were eBay purchases (looked like I could get DB15M to DB15F
apple monitor cables for 7 or 8 bucks but shipping would have brought
that into the 15 dollar range).  I decided rather than mess with Ebay,
I'd give this a shot.  It has an aspect of "I should be able to do
this" to it as well.
