Though the baby monitor is the best idea, if he's looking for an
electricity-free option, I would try:

1. Remove the interior foam, which has been mentioned.

2. Reposition the printer by a door, which has already been mentioned.

3. If it is on a printer cart or screw-together table, consider
*loosening* the cart or table. Make the table slightly more rickety.
Then attach a bell to the table or the printer. The idea here is to
take advantage of the violent shaking that can happen with an IW2 when
its really moving.

4. Use lighter weight paper. It absorbs less noise. Although I can't
imagine there's a large selection of tractor paper at stores these
days...
