I only have one 5MB Profile, and when I got it, its drive belt was suffering from severe memory effect. It sounded quite lumpy, but got better with time, and from sitting after more running. Mine has a few "pauses" as it is initializing, but it comes ready in about a minute. I think its a good idea to power them up every year or so, and let them do their surface analysis. It keeps the belts more pliable and spreads the grease around the bearings. ;-) -michael Music synthesis for 8-bit Apple II's!
