Okay, if I understand correctly, I need linear flash to expand the
memory inside the eMate, right? I've seen a site that sells one of
those memory upgrade cards, but the darned thing costs $105 by itself,
so that would ruin my plan to keep the price of this thing under $100
or so.
You could try and contact the webmaster of http://www.pilet.net. He
lives in France, OK, but he had cheap flash cards for sale recently.
Cheap is good, but will they work in my eMate?
He can probably get you one that will.
Now that I think about it, I remember reading about a web browser
called Newt's Cape. Not exactly the latest in software, but still
interesting.
Yep.
This driver is by Paul Guyot, author of the Einstein emulator
(<http://www.kallisys.com/newton/ata/en>). He knows more about Newtons
than anyone I've ever met.
He's the guy who told me that the eMate would be too slow to run an
Apple //c emulator.
The eMate is very slow indeed (25 MHz ARM 710 processor). Might work
better on a 2000 or 2100 (161.9 MHz StrongARM).
