It's not the manual inject drive, I do believe it's the controller as I
have a Quadra 650 with the manual inject drive and it (at least used to)
make 800K ProDOS disks that would boot an Apple II time after time.
This was through Mac OS 8.1. It's still sitting around in case I need
to use it for either writing 800K ProDOS disks or for running Appleshare
over localtalk for my GS.
