I appreciate the reply. This is a ZipGSX ROM 1.02. Are there later updates
to the ROM than 1.02...and would they make a difference?
If anyone else can chime in on what could be wrong I would appreciate it. I
popped in all of those new chips with high hopes but only got 64K cache out
of the deal. Perhaps someone with more hardware knowledge could give me some
tips on diagnosing the problem.
When I power on with anything other than the stock 32Mhz oscillator the red
light powers, naturally, but the green light never blinks and the computer
just sits there. I would say this means no CPU activity. I'm still wondering
whether the oscillators are ok (TTL vs. HCMOS...whatever those terms mean)
because a 40Mhz part == a 10Mhz Zip and all of the FAQs on the subject seem
to indicate that 10Mhz is a gimme.
