Hmmm. Quite timely.
Though I have no answers, I have plenty of questions.
I just "won" on ebay a v1.02 Zip GSX at 8 MHz. All 4 of the ram chip
sockets are filled, thought I don't exactly know the significance of
that. It is in the mails right now, and has a non-DOA guarantee.
I have a vague awareness that these cards can be accelerated further,
but I know nothing of the process, or the potential speed gains, or
various cacheing options. I am handy with a soldering iron, and have
made a hobby repairing arcade games, so I'm willing to roll up my
sleeves. Living in Los Angeles, I have access to various rare
components.
So, can someone bring me up to speed (so to speak) about this card, or
at least point me in the right direction via a URL or something?
Thanks,
Warr
