The only monochrome monitor I have at present is an Apple Monitor //
(model number A2M2010). I have used it with both the monochrome and
colour output from an NTSC model Apple II as well as the composite
video out from an NTSC VCR and got images.

As far as I know, this monitor was designed for use in North America
with the NTSC model of Apple II. I have no idea if it will work with
the European PAL models or not. It might accept a CCIR signal but
what model of Apple II outputs that? None that I know of so if it
doesn't work with the PAL Apple IIs then calling it an NTSC monochrome
monitor makes sense to me as it will only work with the NTSC model of
Apple II.
