If I were doing it, I would plug a CFFA card into a IIgs

Since you only need ProDOS, the boot will take less time than
a CRT will take to warm up. And it completely solves the problem
of saving game state, with no moving parts and no need for cooling.
This sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure what you mean by "you
only need ProDos"? Elite booted off a 5.25" disk, probably using some
Dos 3.3 variant. I think you can only find Elite in .dsk format. How
would ProDos help me? Is there some ProDos utility that can run a .dsk
format file? Forgive me, I've been out of the loop with the .dsk
format and what Prodos can (or can't) do.
My mistake--I assumed that it was ProDOS-based.
There are several programs that will run DOS programs from images
stored in a ProDOS file. They are not .DSK images, but they are
convertible.
Also, I wanted to avoid the IIgs screen redraw bug (forgot about that),
so I'm switching to Apple IIe. This card works with a IIe, so I'm ok
there. Now I just need an accellerator that is adjustable. ZipChip?
Perfect, if a bit hard to find. But I thought you said that 1MHz
speed was fine...maybe it was another poster.
Also, does the Apple IIe display it's video in RGB? If not, I'll need
an RGB card for it as well.
True. Probably not so hard to find.
How does Elite look in composite video with a good monitor?
