Ah yes, you are right; I forgot about that. I always used to switch
between views quickly after a ship was destroyed to manually refresh
the screen.
Maybe I should use an Apple IIe instead and look into accelerators for
it. Elite on IIe just seems too slow.
Also, I found some information on a few devices that may work for the
"static drive":
AST Ramstak plus - seems like little information on this card, but I
can burn EPROMs, so I would be able to populate the EPROM sockets.
However, there are some jumpers on it and I have no documentation on
how to set them. Anybody using this that can comment on their
performance in ROMdisk mode?

It runs Prodos though; maybe there is some way around that.
