Re: Apple II version of Activision's H.E.R.O.

For the record, Shrinkit was released in 1988. The first mention of an
Apple II emulator on usenet was also in 1988. However emulators were
not extensivly discussed until 1990/1991.

Getting the files to an Apple 2 is an entirely DIFFERENT issue.
Whether or not you have the capability to do this is a personal
problem. The issue at hand is whether or not Shrinkit and its files
are a pain to use. Besides, getting Shrinkit files onto an emulator is
trivial.

>So, like I said to work with SDKs and SHK's on a real Apple 2 can be a >real pain.

No you said:
> >Even on a real Apple ][ SHK's and SDK's are a pain to use.

Don't try to spin the statement so it works for you again. Just like
you tried to justify the word "Everything" as not being mutually
exclusive. Get real.

>Errr, what about extracting SHK's / SDKs when they are on a disk with
>limited space ?

Hmmm, howabout extracting them to another disk. Like everyone else
with one drive does. At this point I'm really wondering if you've even
ever tried to use the program.

>What about extracting a SHK of ProDOS files onto a DOS 3.3 disk ?

Why would you even want to do such a thing? Typically DOS 3.3 files
are on DOS 3.3 disks that are archived as entire 140k disks. If you
wanted to do so, you extract to Prodos first and then its easy with the
right copy program.

>What about extracting a SHK of DOS programs on a ProDOS disk ? >Some DOS programs don't like running on ProDOS disks. It's not
>always easy to tell what OS touse before extracting the files.

A vast majority of people know that there is no such thing as SHK
archives of DOS 3.3 files. Shrinkit only does archives of Prodos
files, or archives of entire disks. So assuming the user was bright
enough, its not that hard to figure out. If for some strange reason
you had an incompatable dos program on a Prodos disk, all that you
would have to do is copy it back to a DOS 3.3 disk.

>This all makes SHKs / SDK's a pain to use, imho.

You should learn how Shrinkit works so it wouldn't be a pain, imho. Or
quit bitching about it.

>Got any more lame arguments for me to blow out of the water ???

I'm not very interested in playing much more in your twisted alternate
reality.
