I've had access to my school district's T1 for 10 years now, and they even
supply the machines.  I like experimenting with Linux and what Macs can do

I don't see why it wouldn't work.  I even found a program for Mac System
8+ that did a nice telnet chat.  Ran it for a few years, but never saw
another soul on it.  B-{)

I don't know if you'd really want to have lots of folks on your firewall
machine, but I think this is the place to try to connect with folks
looking to make use of free resources to provide alternatives to Apple II
fans.

I wouldn't mind seeing a friendly IRC apple conference available for all.
