Re: My favorite Apple II
All that one would need to do is tie a multiuser telnet chat client
with a telnet bbs message board and a usenet news reader. BBS users
could use the system for csa2 news reading/posting as well as for local
forums for the particular bbs. This will help generate traffic - (one
stop shopping) and would prevent sucking users away from a great
resource like csa2. Also:
- Provide PSE and PSE Extended emulation pull down menus and you'll
blow away every VT-xxx telent bbs on the planet. (PSE Extended is PSE
in full color - supported by spectrum)
- Build a simple but comprehensive web site with pertinent A2
information as well as info on accessing the telnet bbs. You could
include a handful of web based downloads for starting A2 users.
- Add FTP downloads of the same files.
- Include guest access so people could log in and just look around
without the hassle of creating an account, pw, etc. Lurk mode - no
posting and chat viewing only.
This partial list is a vision that I've had for about 10 years but
lacked the resources to fully implement. (Parts of it have come to
fruition in ways that I am not willing to fully disclose at this time.)
But if someone is willing to pull off such a venture, I will provide
what I have to this point and assist to the extent of my abilities.
