Re: Please Explain Graphics

Michael,

Thanks for the reply. What you say is what I would have expected. The
TV, of course, is exactly centered, so I know it's not a problem with
the tube being off center or anything like that (pardon me but I'm a
numbers guy, not a hardware guy)....

<snip>

But enough of this frivolity - When I hold down a key in text mode it
runs perfectly within the width of the screen, as you suggest -
equally, lores is just peachy. It occurred to me, after I'd written
what I wrote, that I can't be sure that stock programs are displayed
correctly as they may be chopped off but I don't know it.

I did, however, notice that this IIE I'm using had a card in it which
mentioned Australia - could this be (and I'm grasping at straws) that
it's a PAL/NTSC issue.....Naw, that's stupid because then you would
expect a vertical problem, now a horizontal one as they're both 352
scanlines....

Actually, an Apple II raster is non-interlaced, and has 262 lines,
192 of which are visible in the "box"--the rest are blanked.

It's looking like insanity is the most viable explanation but I can
list the code and photograph the screen if anyone is in doubt.

So, when you HPLOT from x=0 to 279 (HCOLOR=3), you don't draw a
line that goes from edge to edge of the text box? Bizzarre.
