The Applesoft interpreter won't like <tab> characters either! The result
will be "?SYNTAX ERROR".
It's been a while since I've used BBedit, but many text editors have an
option to insert spaces when the <tab> key is pressed. This would leave the
code looking neater while keeping the interpreter happy.
Or you could just strip <tab> characters when you remove the "extra"
<return> as Ed suggested.
