Richard, if you're going to go to the trouble of replacing the power supply,
consider just making it external, ala "Buggie" style. Any power supply, fan
or not, just adds heat to inside of the case. Some of the newer clone PC
power supplies aren't as butt ugly as they used to be, but still it's
something extra on the desk...

A friend of mine went the external power supply route, be he also went to
some extra trouble - he discarded the metal shielding, mounted two muffin
fans to the lid blowing upward and wired them to a switch and a molex
connector for convenient disconnect. It's pretty slick.
