: Hi Bill,
:
: I think I spoke too soon, even the Apple RAM card will
: crap out a $27 or a can't load _____FST (Dos 3.3 or
: HFS) sometimes on boot. I really am beginning to think
: it's a temperature issue. On warm reboots, even power
: off warm reboots, nothing bad happens. But the initial
: startup from cold is all kinds of no-good.
:
: Really odd. Perhaps I should look for a ROM 03 GS
: on ebay?!

Before you panic and spend money. Take an eraser and
clean your connections to the slot on the CFFA. If that
doesn't help, then do what I do. Take a fine emory board
and lightly rub it over the slot connector until they shine.
Sometimes this helps due to the CFFA having such short
length to it's slot connector. compare it to other cards
and you'll see that they are much shorter. I've had to do
this to all of the CFFA cards I have had. Also, I have had
problems with CFFA version 1.3 in ROM03, but not in
ROM01. It should work. Have you lifted and reseated
all of your socketed chips lately?? I have to do that maybe
every couple months. Also, hold OA and OPTION on
cold boot to get a system test. Make sure your onboard
ram is working. :o)

: And do keep me posted when the RAM4GS become
: available again!!! - Hells yeah!

It will be posted when they're ready for orders. Of course,
as always, I accept prepaid orders. Only got one so far.
Anyway, if you can prepay that will shorten the time in getting
the boards produced.

Thanks,
