Actually, it boots the Amstrad core - but it comes with a risc cpu
that's also capable of running 6502 code (which is what the boot rom
is written in).

Yes. It's actually a small RISC CPU that interprets Z80 and 6502
opcodes.

No, they are SRAM based.
