I was amazed when they introduced the Macintosh LC-III instead of calling
it something else.
I was even more amazed when they introduced the machines with the G3 CPU.
(Is that shorthand for "GoGoGo"? 8-) )
On the other hand, the Macintosh II and the Macintosh LC-II were not
surprises at all, and I'm surprised we never saw a G2 CPU. Maybe even a
"G-II".
Pity I was impatient and bought a G4 machine. I thought at the time that
since the next logical typographic advance would be called the "G5" I
should have waited. They could have called the dual-processor unit a
IIG5 and it could sit right next to my IIGS. 8-)
