Well, system 7 Pro did not solve the problem, but loading Stuffit and
Winimage and finding an old copy of PC Exchange did. Now the Mac will
read PC and ProDOS disks and hopefully will be able to write them as
well.

So, from what I've learned from this:

1. Superdrives do not natively read any other disk other than the Mac
format.
2. System 7 Pro (7.1.1) does not include PC Exchange
3. PC Exchange can be found on the Internet and it solves the problem
of the Mac being able to read other format disks.

What I don't know is whether or not the Mac SE I have sitting over
here with two 800K floppies will be able to read/write on DOS or
ProDOS disks using PC Exchange. That's a project for another day.

Thanks to all for your help and the links.
