Re: RamFast SCSI question (comparison)

Does the rev C RamFAST have any cache at all? I thought it was more
like the Apple cards and didn't have any on board cache. The rev D
RamFAST came with either 256 KB or 1 MB of cache.

If the rev C doesn't have any cache then the rev D will definitely be
faster. Especially under ProDOS 8.

The rev C has 256k cache. I like using the rev D with 1mb cache in my
IIe. Like using a RAMdisk but better as you don't need to preload
anything but also it looks ahead and preloads a few k into it's cache.

I haven't used the rev C much. I bought it because I read some old
postings suggesting it would work on a II+. I tried a couple different
ROMs but had no luck. Their ads said enhanced IIe or IIgs but sometimes
there's ways around these things or in this case not.
