the way i fake scanlines is, i take an image ive made with alternating
horizontal lines ( large enough to cover the surface of the image i want to
create scanlines for, and of any colour *except* any colour ( an exact
colour ) that is in the image ) and at the edge the lines i have a slightly
thicker vertical line. i place this over the image and then use a fill tool
and fill the vertical line with white and then you have a sliced image. i
take that and darken or lighten it. then i place that over the original
image at the right spot. sounds like alot of work though i dont like
photoshop at all and i'm used to doing things this way since i never had any
big-time image manipulation programs. it's easier than it seems.

anyway you don't need to have scanlines, unless it's your preference. if you
want to imitate a TV screen sure otherwise there are no scanlines.

i agree with those that said to make your own. you can just snapshot a boot
screen from an emulator.

someone suggested snapshotting with the emulator in full screen mode. this
is okay though it doesn't always work. with some emulators you can't use the
normal Print Screen to take a shot in full screen mode and other times you
may take a shot in full screen only to find your image is much smaller at
its real resolution ( this happens often when using MS-DOS emulators )

you'll need to resize these yourself.

if you want to keep the ratio correct you should have this option in your
paint package hopefully. you should do a regular resize and nothing with
anti-aliasing,etc. in paint shop pro i think "resample" smooths out the
edges and what not, and "resize" does just that. i think Resize is what you
want to do.

i dont know what you want these for though if it's for your desktop you
could skip all the resizing and check the option to Stretch, if you use
Windows, if you're fine with that. i guess other OSs have a similar option.
I also run Amiga OS3.9 and i know that one does.
