: Just as a followup - I am able to transmit and run ADT (either
stock 1.22 or
: ADTcc 1.21b) on the Laser, and either the DOS or Windows
version of ADT on
: the PC. No luck - I never get past the "AWAITING ANSWER FROM
PC." stage.
:
: Here's the sequence I'm using:
: - Boot the Laser with a DOS 3.3 disk containing ADT.CC
: - Ctrl-3-Reset - to enter 3.6MHz mode
: - Ctrl-P-Reset - to enter Port Config: Port 2 as 8/1, 19200, No
Parity, No
: Echo, Yes LF, No Zap
:
: At this point, if I launch a suitably configured term program
(e.g.
: HyperTerminal) and on the Laser type PR#2 and IN#2 I can drive
the Laser via
: the PC keyboard with no problems.
:
: - BRUN ADT.CC - launches just fine
: - On the PC, launch ADT.EXE - DOS or Windows version
: - Try any command - no luck. DIR just hangs, Send always gets
AWAITING
: ANSWER FROM PC.
:
: ProTerm 2.1 can transfer files successfully, so I'm baffled.
Any more
: thoughts?

Yeah, I would think if you have connection through
a terminal program that ADT should work. What protocol
are you using to connect with terminal program? Which
handshaking modes work? The cable wiring has to be
correct for the ADT handshaking protocol, which I am
not sure what that is. I hope someone knows that and
will post it here.

:
: I am unable to connect to apple2.org.za. Is the site having
connectivity
: issues? No problems with any other sites - I can go to
http://www.org.za and
: nslookup tells me the IP is 66.206.18.224 and I get timeouts
trying to ping.
: Is it just me?

I clicked on the link in the post above and went to
the site and page just fine.
