ADT with a Laser 128

Hey guys,

I've been trying to get my old Bard's Tale characters off of my 5.25" disks
and onto my PC so that I can continue my adventures on a PC emulator and not
have to hook up and run my Laser 128. Bill Garber made a great cable to
connect my Laser 128 to my PC and the cable itself works fine.

I know this because I downloaded ADT and sucessfully sent the ADT program to
a disk on my Laser 128 via the instructions. No problems there - just fired
up a terminal program, loaded the dump file, and sent it to the PC. I made
sure I formatted the disk first. IN#2,

I had no problem running the ADT program, either - BRUN ADT.CC or ADT.SS or
just the ADT program and it loaded fine.

The problem comes with sending files to the PC. Every time I go to send a
file, I have the ADT.EXE program listen on port 2 (where it's plugged in),
and then I try to send a disk file. It always stops at "AWAITING ANSWER FROM
PC" - where it hangs forever.

I've tried all 3 versions of ADT that I've found - ADT.DMP, ADTCC.DMP, and
ADTSS.DMP. They all transfer fine, but CC and SS hang at the answer and
plain old ADT won't run at all (has a break in some line or another, would
have to xfer it and run it to find out exactly where).

Neither the comm card nor the super serial is written for the Laser 128's
port, I'm guessing...so is there any way to get this to work, or am I stuck?
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to set up something on the PC end of
things - is something preventing the Laser from making contact with the ADT
"server" on the PC? Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm running ADT on Windows XP...further details if they're pertinent, but in
this case I'm just not sure what is pertinent...what'm I doing wrong?
