I remember the ASCII art of the 80's also.  Most BBSes had a place for it,
and later ANSI art.  In the world of Commodore we also had PETSCII art.
However, it was usually frowned upon when messages containing large amounts
of art were posted in other than the designated areas.  Most sysops would
either move the message to the proper area, or just delete it.

Usenet has a place for ASCII art too.  alt.ascii.art is one such newsgroup,
rec.arts.ascii is another.  It would be nice if Bateau would post his art
there and leave the comp.sys hierarchy alone.
