Thanks for the suggestions... to be honest I've never been able to
remember how to use escape mode editing without having to refer to a
cheat sheet :(  For the most part, I use Beagle Bro's Program Writer for
AppleSoft editing. The only time it gets inconvenient is if your program
needs to use the memory where the editor is, then you have to quit to
test your program... other than that it seems pretty much ideal.
