In a word, no. Purchasing an item to resell on ebay places the risk of loss
on the purchaser. Similarly, the stuff may not sell on ebay, increasing the
purchaser's loss. In contrast, there is no risk at all on the thrift
store--they got the article for free and they don't incur additional fees
trying to list the item for sale on ebay. Just because someone can take a
risk and possibly make more one ebay doesn't mean that the thrift store is
entitled to sell it for the same price that a person would receive if their
'bet' happens to pay off.
What irritates me is when thrift stores ask for more money for an item than
when it is new, with cables and power cords and a warranty. That's just
stupid.
