I thought about this more, and if you have a Mac CD
in there and no HFS.FST installed then it can't read it.

Yes, I was under the impression the caddy was empty.
See above.

You'd be surprised what you'll find. I've found
datasheets on the old MFM hard drives.

I'm a member. I will ask the operator where it is.

: Tried that. The system goes through the motions of
: 'installing' it ("do you want this put in the correct
: folder", etc), but the file never appears in the NDA
: list, or folder for that matter. Simply dragging and
: dropping to the NDA folder (no dialogue about proper
: folders) has the same effect. May be time for a fresh
: GS/OS installation - not sure how to go about that,
: though. Another learning experience to look forward
: to.

If you do decide to reinstall, start from a fresh partition.
Copy off all of the files that aren't GS/OS related and format
it. Then run the Installer and tell it to install a full system
to hard drive, choose that partition (volume) and click install.
Swap in disks as needed, and you don't have to hit keys, they
will be recognized.

I'll get it out now, please send me an email with an
address I can reply to, I.E., not munged. Thanks.
