Re: Apple IIe TCP-IP w/ LANceGS Card



I agree with Chris on this point.  It's too bad that the Apple II was
killed right before the Internet really took off, high speed internet
became normal, and home networking because the "in thing".  

If Apple and/or a third party vendor had released a Ethernet card early
in the Apple II's life cycle, who knows what might have happened.  We
could have had some of the applications that some have clamored for a
long time (web browser, news, etc, etc). 

But, hey that's the way life goes.  I would plunk down for the LanceGS
if there was some practical use for it.  But since I have a IIe, there's
really no point right now.  I was tempted to try to buy a used IIGS to
tie it into my DSL line with the LanceGS but too much time to try and
put things together...maybe some day...:D
