There are other ways of attaching a virus/worm to an email, but
most of the would-be hackers, among these are newly formed
anti-virus developers attempting to frighten you into purchasing
their product, do not have the ability, or simply only wish to, as
I stated above, frighten you into a purchase. They don't really wish
to damage your precious data. Most good AV software can keep
abreast of the updated virus/worms that they develope.

No, this is an open and infect your own system type of
attachment. I have opened several of them and AVG has
caught it before it could infect me everytime. Only those
without proper protection and someone naive enough to
actually open the attachment are vulnerable. This is truly
kid's stuff. AVG, even the free version, is powerful enough
to keep this at bay, if only people would search it out and
install it, then not be gullible enough to open the attached
file.
