Ed,

Thanks very much for your input.  Perhaps I didn't make it clear in my
descriptions, but I also have the same problem with the GS after
removing the TWGS and replacing the original 40-pin DIP 2.8 MHz 65816
CPU in the CPU socket, effectively reverting the machine to using a
"stock" IIgs CPU.  Also after removing all other cards and peripherals,
including memory expansion, I still have the problem.

Since I still have the problem after removing the accelerator, I can't
isolate the problem to the accelerator itself.  This drove me crazy for
a while, because I was convinced that my TWGS had some logic problem
because the GS worked fine after I removed it, but later on the
symptoms reappeared for no apparent reason -- they are that
intermittent.
