I need to get a membership with A. P. P. L. E. sometime but I still
haven't recovered completely from my period of unemployment earlier
this year. Hopefully I'll have some free cash again soon.

I sometimes really miss the days of BBSing. I used to have a lot of
fun doing that. :-)

I'm not sure if you can get SIS to work through an STerm connection or
not. You might be able to if you can telnet to another shell of some
kind (unix, VAX or whatever is supported by SIS) and then start SIS
and tell if you are already connected to the shell. It might be worth
a try at some point but I haven't tried it myself and don't have
access to any shells that SIS supports to test if with.

You should be able to do better than that. I have always had my IIgs
null-modemed to my PC at 57,600 bps. Mind you, I am using a properly
wired hardware handshaking null-modem cable which gives me a reliable
connection.
