Before investing too much in spares, you might try to "skooch" up
each chip a little (carefully, avoiding prying the _socket_ up ;-) and
then re-seating it.  This simple maneuver breaks through the oxide/
sulfide layer that forms on the contact surfaces, and often restores
the machine to life.

Socketed chips are a wonderful thing, and a curse.

I'm assuming, of course, that the power light comes on, and that
you haven't done something else to the machine to fry it.  ;-)
