For practical reasons, I agree with Paul, although it's my IIe that
is on a side desk and my IIgs that sits on the floor in the corner.
I just personally like the IIe better because I don't care for GS/OS
that much.
To me, Dos 3.3 and Prodos are classic microcomputing, and GS/OS is
a poor imitation of modern operating systems. These days I'm so
spoiled by 1600x1200x32 accelerated antialiased graphics, I can
hardly stand to look at the IIgs finder for more than 5 minutes.
Demos and games are still ok though.
The IIgs has a Zip-GS (currently at 12.5 Mhz) and a 4Mb RAM Card,
but the Hi-Speed SCSI is in the IIe, along with the 1Mb Ramworks III,
a Super Serial Card, a Novation AppleCat (currently displacing another
SSC), Apple Mouse Card, TimeMaster H.O., & Disk II Card. Anyone know
anything useful to put in slot 3 that won't conflict with the Ramworks?
I can imagine selling the IIgs someday, but not the IIe, never!

P.S. On another topic, my IIe power supply died last week. I just
swapped it out with a spare I had, but I'd like to know what might
be wrong with it. When it was still in the IIe, the symptoms were
that you could turn on the computer, and after 2-5 minutes, the
power would simply cut off. If I tried switching it off and on
again, it wouldn't power up. If I switched it off and then waited
a while before switching it back on, then it would come up for the
above mentioned 2-5 minutes. This started happening suddenly about
a week ago. It's the first problem I've had with the computer at
all since it was bought in 1983.
P.P.S. Ok I did fry the main board once, but that was my fault.
The manual always said not to pull the cards out while the computer
was on, but 14-year-olds sometimes know better than manuals, or
so they think. And it worked the first time I tried it....
