Yes, that's how I got started.  I wanted an Imagewriter  II I saw at a
garage sale.  The seller told me I had to take the whole box.  Under the
Imagewriter was a complete IIc system. I took it home and started looking at
it.  I was impressed by how elegant it was, and the tactile feel of the
keyboard.  So I had to set it up and boot it, and the rest is history.  :-)
