Just a quick survery:
What model Apple II did your school have (if any)?
The elementary/junior high/high school I attended had a bunch of
unenhanced Apple //e computers, with 48K RAM each, no 80 column card, one
Disk ][ drive for each machine, and one Zenith amber monochrome monitor
for each machine. They also had a bunch of TRS-80 Model III machines.
This was throughout the 1980's. I think they purchased the Apple //e
computers as soon as they came out in 1983, which explains why they were
all unenhanced and with 48K RAM.
I don't recall the school having any ProDOS based disks. All I remember is
Apple DOS 3.3, Apple Presents Apple, and Oregon Trail. I do remember
learning how to program in AppleSoft BASIC which I found thrilling at the
time. :)
I always did like the built in character generator font that the Apple //e
produced onscreen.
