Re: What model Apple II did your school have?

like some others here, I had already left high school before Apples were in
schools. This was 1978 and I hadn't even heard of Apple for about a year.
Our school only just started a sort of Computer class which was an extra
subject. We used a programmable Cannon calculator. I think the first program
we wrote was the Lunar Lander Simulation after converting it from some HP
calculator programs.
While I was at school though I was lucky enough to get on to the Summer
School Computer classes. The computers we used were state of the art in
Australia at the time and the summer school was only available in my state.
They were IBM 370s System 115's IIRC. I learned a foreign language called
APL. there were only two terminals and while you sat around waiting for your
turn you had OMR cards to fill in for batch processing. Later they
introduced more computers including HP and eventually Apples were also used.
the good thing about leaving school though was that by 1980 I could afford
my own Apple ][ europlus after first going astray on a Trash-80 which I only
had for 1 year before I saw the light. Colour & high resolution and an
affordable disk drive system was the reasons to change over. I was fed up
with cassette tapes and long loading times.
