Certainly in a retrocomputing newsgroup especially, you can
see why some think of Woz's machine as the "real" Apple II
and the IIgs as a product of creeping featurism.

Just to calm the IIgs lovers, I happily admit that the IIgs has
more "horsepower" than the 8-bit Apples,

Which is why I'd love to see a Transwarp like turbo card using the new much faster 65C02/65816, my IIe running at 14-20 mhz interests me....

I'm quite happy with an 8 MHz Zip Chip. ;-)

I envy you.
How does that effect your music routines?

I do have a 10 mhz iigs, and a IIc+ (and a Transwarped IIe, but that's, what? 3.6 mhz?)

breaks the 64KB

barrier quite usefully,

I still like the one meg in my RAMWorks III.

Bank switching is OK if there is no alternative, but direct addressing
is much easier to use. Of course, if you're using an application
that deals well with the AUX RAM banks, then that's not an issue
(as I noted with Appleworks).
