I'm quite happy with an 8 MHz Zip Chip. ;-)

Bank switching is OK if there is no alternative, but direct addressing
is much easier to use. Of course, if you're using an application
that deals well with the AUX RAM banks, then that's not an issue
(as I noted with Appleworks).
