Re: Japanese Apple Collectors (was: Seeking information on the Apple II "j-plus" model)

When I said $1000+, I was referrring to the IIGS that was sold on eBay for
that amount, not the 25,000 yen, which was the price of a IIe on YJ. So I
should've written it as:

"If only 2000 j-plus's were sold, and seeing the population of Apple
collectors are increasing heavily, I can see why someone there would pay
25,000 yen for an Apple IIe system, or $1000+ for a IIGS system."

Sorry for the bad English... My writing sucks on newsgroups! :(

Back to my point, here are some current examples of what I'm mean by Apple
II's excellent resale value at YJ:

System: Apple IIc Plus with 9-inch monitor and monitor's original box.
Current price: 20500 yen or $170.96 USD

System: Apple IIc with 9-inch monitor Current price: 13500 yen or $112.58

System: Apple IIc with brick, and Flight Simulator Current price: 10500
yen or $87.56

The reverse is also great. Japanese-marketed Apple equipment is dirt cheap
in Japan, compared to eBay. I just purchased my first Bandai Pippin ATMARK
for $112.00 USD today off of YJ. It's going to cost me $53.00 for the
shipping and $28 service fee (I use a deputy auction service based in
Japan), but it's still way cheaper than any U.S. or European source for the
same configuration. A Bandai Pippin ATMARK currently being sold on eBay
(base unit and floppy drive only) is already $200.00 USD, and it lacks
software and a game pad.
