There are others in this group who are much more experienced than I
in such networking matters, but I will hazard a suggestion:
You need an older Mac to serve as a matchmaker. An older Mac
is available for a pittance at thrift stores, can run the free download
LocalTalk Bridge from Apple to solve you network interconnection
problem, and has a 3.5" Superdrive to provide Apple II media
compatibility.
The details have been repeated enough in the last year or so that
it should be in the "networking" FAQ by now, but Google Groups
can always resurrect it in any event.
