Re: Karateka question

That sure brings back some memories from my teens years. At some point in the game I had to cross a gate which was dropping from the ceiling. The poor hero was always pinned down. What was the trick to cross the gate? I never found it and eventually gave up the game. This is one of the last game I played on my //e along with Black Magic, Bruce Lee and Silent Service. Favorite Firsts were Choplifter, Wavy Navy and Seafox. 

Lode Runner is an all-time favorite, even in PC reincarnation.
Best thing was these games were fitting in 64K, not 6 CD sets like some PC games today. 

Okay, where did I put that Apple Joystick... :)

Yup, Martin is right.  If you are standing in one place then the guards


will


keep coming.  You need to continue to move forward after defeating each
guard.    Eventually you'll make it to the inside of the castle, then past
the gate, then down to the dungeon, etc.

There is  probably an infinte number if you hang around.
I must admit I haven't played this game in many years ..... (although
hopefully I will get back into it, as I am getting a IIGS soon, it was


many


years ago I sold my last Apple Machine).

Basically as soon as you have defeated one enemy, you need to move


towards


the right as fast as possible, until you reach the next enemy guy.
You are able to run  - hold up on the joystick to stand vertical, and


then


diagonal top right if I remember correctly, to run right. If you don't


run,


but do the side step thing, it will probably take you a while to get to


the


next stage.

Great game though, probably one of my faves when I had my Apple way back




in


the 80's. That, Loderunner and Rescue Raiders, consumed the vast


majority


of


my teens !
