And the key is to RUN between guard fights.  If you just walk, you'll have
to fight a lot more guards.  But, you have to stop running before the next
guard takes a punch/kick at you - if they hit you while you are running, you
die immediately.  You need to stop about a body-length before them.

And you can only hit the bird with high kicks.  :-)
