Re: Orca Basic

Speaking of the Toolbox, a friend of mine will lend me its two Apple Toolbox books from Addison-Wesley. I will reach 'nerdvana' Real Soon Now. My long-term project is to control my house with my GS and some X10 interface. Getting a programming environment and knowing GS/OS services are good first steps. Making my GS and my Linux PC talk together could be fun too.

Orca sold a Integer Basic also.

It was primarily to allow use of old programs and to show how a compiler works...

One would need GSoft Basic (also from Byteworks via Syndicomm) To get Toolbox access, etc. from a Basic language on the GS.

OK, there were were some ampersand routines for access from Applesoft, but I never tried them.
