There are a number of ways to make a disk image. If you're talking about the
disk images of GS/OS that you can download free from Apple, those are in Mac
DiskCopy format. You need a Mac with a floppy that can write 800K ProDos
disks, and DiskCopy, which is another free download from Apple.
Another one is .sdk disk images. ShrinkitGS can extract those. See the faq
