Apple 14" composite monitor on IIGS?

My IIGS monitor is at death's door, knocking loudly. It works fine for
about 5 or 10 minutes, sometimes even 15, then it sudeenly cuts out, as if
it were unplugged or turned off. I then need to press the power button to
turn it off and wait. After about an hour or so it will work again.

Anyway, a friend of mine says he's had an old Apple 14" composite monitor
gathering dust in his attic. He says the connector is similar to the round
monitor connector on the back of my IIGS. My question is, will it work on
the IIGS?

My manuel is buryed somewhere in the basement, which I haven't gotten
around to unpacking since the room the IIGS was in was redecorated, so I
can't check it at the moment, but I remember something about not being
able to use composite monitors. If that's the case, what's the round
monitor port for?

Also, will this affect the colorswitch capability of the PC Transporter
card I've got?
