That is EXACTLY what I think!
If  a 7.5.5 system with filesharing ON can see a ProDOS formated II disk on the 
desktop, then what changed in 8?  What changed was yet another nail in  the II 
coffin imho.  My original question dealt with  if there was any  "Technical" 
reason this could not be done. So far, I in my reading and asking questions, I 
cannot find one.
