I think they mentioned that they upgraded from GS/OS 5.X to 6.0.1. I wonder
if that has anything to do with their success. Perhaps a file was left from
the old install that is not in the new install.

In any case, let me detail my setup:

SE/30, System 7.1 (final version). Also a Classic II, running 7.5.2. Clean
installs on both. Clean installs of AppleShare 3.0 and an upgrade to 3.3 (?)
(tried both, no difference).
I'm using a printer cable to connect one or the other (not both at once) to
one IIgs.
I have only GS/OS 6.0.1 to work with. Made an AppleShare 3.5 disk with the
installer, then booted from that and installed the Network: Server Boot (or
whatever it is called, can't recall exactly) software on the server. That's
all I installed on the server.

With this setup, I can boot my ROM 3 from the server. If I boot my ROM 1
from the AppleShare 3.5 disk, it works fine, connecting and loading the
Finder. However, if I try to boot the ROM 1 from the server, it allows me to
get past the login, shows the normal IIgs start screen with the progress
bar, but very soon gives a blue screen asking by name for my server hard
disk to be inserted, just as if it was requesting a different floppy.

Thanks, I didn't know about that. I'll give that a try. Easier than what I
was doing, removing files and putting them back when the boot process
complained about not finding them!

Just as simple as possible. The server, a printer cable, and a IIgs.
Thanks for the help.
