A long time ago I tried soldering together 2 Apple II power supplies and
it appeared to work though I had no way of telling whether they were sharing
the load or one was handling everything. However using a PC power supply
would be handier and neater than using 2 Apple II power supplies.
If you have the spare parts, a IIgs power supply might be considered heavy
duty in a IIe. It'll physically bolt into a IIe, just requires that the power
connector
be changed.
